Good idea Charlie. I'll start a list, and those who wish to send in an item, we will discuss it off list to define accordingly. No sleigh riders. I'll keep a lexicon going and if someone comes along who wishes to do the distribution fine , I'll play. Anybody wants to have an item explained , I'll try. When I talk about some old stuff, I'll use the vintage terms I know, when needed, and trust you'll capiche. I really would like for the CR members to realize the role they play in keeping history alive. Whether oral or written down these things should be kept for our next generations of flamers. I wish I had been just a little more tuned in at 13 to 20 years old to query these Stars of the '90's more about their times. That stuff is all lost, by-in-large. I not going to censor any body, I don't care if you choose to ride your steelion down the cobblestone street in the nude, stop at the chocolate shop and have Lady Godiva put a Bon-Bon on your tongue. Bob knows as well as I do I was having fun with him, adding insult to injury. Refer to your equipment anyway you like. It's cool. I actually enjoy studying the modern cycling expressions. Some are flushes, some are flushies. I'm going to try to preserve the old terms so they are not forgotten and people down the line can look back upon them and compare, and have fun chewing the fat about them. Correct terminology.
When Ted Ernst proposes the correct use of bicycle terminology I agree. So I nominate Ted and others who wish to join him to compile a Bicycle Dictionary for us to refer to. Then I propose someone with the computer software skills to write a spell check program with only the correct bicycle terminology in it so we all can do a spell check before posting incorrect terminology. Or have I gone past the cutoff of 1983. Surely they had spell check back then.
