Subject: [CR]Differences in classic frames with same geometry

With all the classic bikes with the same and near identical geometry, has anyone noticed that two frames with same wheelbase, angles, tubing and dimensions having very different characteristics? This interests me, as I have often noticed that two bikes that are similar in many respects feel similar in spite of small cosmetic differences, and even high quality tubing choices that are different. I am no expert, and it would probably take a frame builder's experience base to really start to notice differences in items such as lug choice, fork crown styles, and even bottom bracket differences that amount to no more than 1/4 inch. I don't want to appear to be insensitive, nor do I want to appear to be more knowledgeable than I am. In this group, anything less than candor would be sniffed out quickly anyway. This discussion might help us all in making choices that are more important than just minor preferences, for our future aquisitions.
