This is a bit different. The chrome on my 74 Raleigh Professional seems to dull over time. The lower fork and rear triangle looks a lot like dull aluminum. The puzzler (for me) is that when I polished it with "Blue Magic" metal polish it cleaned up pretty nicely and the rag was very black. This would make sense if it were aluminum I was polishing. Note there is no rust, no pits, no flaking or peeling at all. The fork crown doesn't have this problem. Any ideas on why the chrome would do this?
