Peter the following is not directed at you, they are observations of mine after being on the list since its inception...

I'm not suggesting that it's all been covered, it's in the archives, shut down the list. What I am saying is that the archives are under utilized based on the types of questions asked day in and day out on the list. And I'm also saying that asking questions without checking the archives is actually taking the easy way out. Knowing that there is a high probability that the question has already been asked and that the answer is in the archives but it's too much trouble to actually look it up is the equivalent of asking someone else to do your homework for you to my way of thinking.

What I love to see is when someone posts, "I've checked the archives and can't find the answer so could someone tell me why bla, bla, bla..."

What I would love to see is someone finding multiple answers to their question in the archives and building on that with new information.

What makes me feel like putting a gun to my head is when someone posts... well... you all probably know the answer to that one already.
