It's official.. Next year's Cirque will move a month later than previous years. This is because the huge Furniture Market that engulfs our region every spring is moving two weeks later, bumping us out of our slot. Then local University/College graduations (we have 5 good size ones in the immediate area) finish off May...
So for 2006, the Cirque will be Friday, June 9, Saturday, June 10 and Sunday, June 11. Save those dates!
For those of you who want to try to get into the Battleground Inn, here's the skinny... You cannot make actually reservations until July. This is due to eccentricities in their reservation software.. BUT, if you call Pam the manager (and ONLY Pam can help you!) she will add you to her waiting list and plug you into a room, on a first come first serve basis. She is in the hotel from 9 AM till 4 PM weekdays only. The number is 336-272-4737 And you must reference "cycles de ORO" (they can't seem to handle "Cirque du Cyclisme"!)
I may seek out other alternative motels but the dilemma is that except the OHenry Hotel ($$$) there are no close by places.
