Subject: [CR]Re: Huret Luxe wingnuts threading?

I bought a full set of Huret Luxe wingnuts at a recent swap, in the hopes of using these with a typical '70's wheelset. Seller told me they had standard threading.

Neither fits Campy or Japanese QR or solid axles I have here. The rear appears to be 9.5 or so but doesn't fit a 3/8" solid axle either. Front seems to be 8mm. The rear ones fit loosely on a front Shimano QR axle, and the thread pitch seems right on or very close.

I'm thinking of getting these tapped out, but the metal is not too abundant around the bores and who knows, they might be valuable as an unmolested set. I don't want the captive flange breaking off after tapping. If they're extremely scarce I'll not modify them. I imagine they're from the '50's or so.

Has anyone done this? These are chromed brass with the captive washers, btw.
