Hello John,

I too have had success with thin brass shim stock. I've cut them into strips and scotch taped them in the crank arm. The crankarm seems to snug up ok, but as Rodney has indicated, check for tightness periodically.

Another method that I've had luck with is to use Locktite Green which is designed to fill very small gaps with a super hard product. I've never had any problem removing a crankarm after using it, although the crankarm comes off with a somewhat disquieting "POP". As a matter of fact, Spence Wolfe reccomended using this type of Locktite on the threads of the Cinelli hub shell to prevent the spline from stripping off the precious few threads that keep it in place.

Good Luck, Dave Martinez Fremont Ca

Then check-out the back of the spindle hole and it is damaged - guess from being used while loose. I don't see any cracks. All indications on the bike is that it was lightly used, very little wear on components.

Please help me evaluate if this crank arm is now simply an ornament or usable. I've posted pics on wooljersey, link below.

The arm bottoms on the stock Stronglight spindle, but trying other spindles, it seems to square up fine without bottoming. So I'm wondering if it is usable like this.

Thanks for the help.
