I am looking at page 13 of the 1963 Holdsworthy 'AIDS' catalog. This catalog shows two of what I tend to think of as "old style" helmets.

There is one model called a "Casque Primo" which resembles an early football helmet. This crash hat has the padded cross members.

The second one shown is called a "Casque Fausto." Construction is described as: "Chromed leather covers flat sectioned rubber bars giving full protection." Is there anyone on this list old enough to have used one of these things?

The ventilation on these crash hats looks great. But compared to today's "hard-shell" helmets, these look extremely dangerous.
