Suntour offered a VX front derailer, but it wasn't all alloy like some others. The cage and even the main pivoted actuation link is steel. SL and NSL are similar, but for the tail end of the cage. SL looks like it's cage drops a few mm lower, but it's hard to tell since the NSL has a 4mm long clasp screw attachment and the SL has a more classic long screw and tubular spacer. I hava a VX front but it has "FUJI" embossed in the front hinged clamp and the hollow roll pin would have to be driven out to swap it for one that says Suntour. The effective chainring size range will depend a lot on what cogs are used when the rider is using the granny ring. A rider who avoids the small cogs or has a narrow-range freewheel can use wider-ranging chainrings. Fuji spec'd bikes with 110mm triples in the day ('79-'80) with up to a 52-34 range.
