Subject: [CR]Masi display at the 2005 Velo-Rendezvous

The Velo-Rendezvous this year in Pasadena promises to be a lot of fun. In addition to the pre-Velo beach-ride, and the main theme of fancy-lugged British bikes (I finally snagged one of those, so I won't feel left out. and no, it's not a Hetchins..<g>)...

.... there will be a Masi display at the Sunday bike show. the SoCal Masi Mafia will collaborate to display as many flavors of Masi as we can come up with, from the early 1960s to the early 1980s.

As Mike Kone noted in his famous article about the values of vintage lightweights, collecting Masis is a project all by itself, considering all the iterations of the marque.

We hope to include as many interesting, and rare, samples of the marque as we can, and as many in original paint and parts as possible; in addition, there will be Masi memorabilia of various kinds on display.

Rex Gephardt and Peter Johnson, are you there? We need your Masis too!! <g>

So, just one more reason to make the Velo-Rendezvous this year.

If you have a rare, or unusual Masi to contribute, pre 1984, please let me know. I'm unofficial coordinator of this Fun Thing.

And come early for the beach-ride. Should be fun.

Charles Andrews SoCal

PS: I also hear that the Saturday event will likely be something different... I imagine Chuck will fill us in as that project evolves.
