Subject: [CR]New '68 Cinelli SC needs rims (Ed Granger)

With several posts mentioning Cupertino Bike Shop recently, the timing may be fortuitous to launch my request. I just took delivery of a new, very blue Cinelli SC, which came complete with the original invoice from Cupertino and a list dated "1967 1/2" listing the standard components available on Super Corsas, as well as a list of component options, including upcharges. Cool stuff to have. I've already picked up new hoods from Greg Parker, and a NOS Regina chain from new listmember Hon Lee - thanks to both. Now I need some nice, period-correct rims, as the originals (either Fiamme red label or Mavic Monthlery according to the bike's only other owner, who has been very helpful regarding the bike via email) were discarded for Rigida clinchers sometime in the 80s. I will probably build up a new wheelset using some NOS high-flange Campy hubs I have acquired, so rims would need to be excellent-to-NOS and 36-hole. The red labels, Mavic, AVA, and Scheeren are all mentioned on the price list I have, but Cupertino was pretty mix and match, so any suggestions (inc. Super Champion, Ambrosio, Nisi, etc.) would be appreciated. The flyweight stuff would be OK, since I'm keeping the Rigida set for riding and would use the other set for display and maybe short rides, and I weigh about 150-155. I need to know which models were available circa 1968-69 or so, and also which stickers/logos connote period correctness (i.e. red labels with helmet). If you have rims you'd be willing to part with or know where to find them, that would be great, but just knowing what I should be keeping an eye out for would also be a big help. Help obtaining appropriate Clement sew-ups would be a bonus. Thanks to those who have been assisting me with conservation of the bike, as well as a belated general thanks to those who answered my prior request for help with brake hoods.
