I was not aware of things like this till 1972, they were scarce then. Later in 1974 while working for a bike shop I priced a delivery of both types. At the time the superleggera model sold for quite a premium, $28.50 verses $18.50 for the regular unit.

There were some variations too, not all were crossed drilled and not all had alloy cradle lower parts.

At the time I went for the regular type as the price difference equated to five hours of work.
