As a follow- up to my earlier response to this post, Richard Sachs has kindly informed me that these caps were indeed flat plates that were machined with the maker's name and brazed to create the angled cap.

Much more deluxe!!!!!!!

I'm not sure that this is a cast piece. It may well be a simple plate with the name stamped into it, and brazed over the end of the seat stay (cut at an angle).
