Hi, I have a safety question regarding ITM "Special" handlebars as fitted to my (surely) KOF Marlboro, 1986 or thereabouts.. ("Hand made by the Holdsworthy Company" Decal attatched) the bars are a fairly horrible mix of materials used in their construction, but are a pleasing shape. You probably know them, they have a map of Italy engraved upon the alloy centre, this being approx 3 6/8" long, with the rest being steel, rusty in this case.
Considering the possibilities of electrolytic corrosion between these two metals, are these bars safe or scrap?...I promise not to sue anyone who thinks they are safe! I just want to keep the bike original if possible, after all, it did cost me 3 GBP from my local amenity tip 2 years ago!
