Hey all,

I notice that the Ebay 7-11 Huffy/Serotta, "actual team bike of... Eric Heiden" does not have a scalloped (cut away) seat lug. Most of the Huffy/Serottas I've seen (Including mine) have this feature. There is a chance that the lug was changed when the seat tube was replaced(?) Or the frame might have been one built by John Slawta ( of Land Shark) (?) Or Serotta might have put different lugs on some of the 7-11 bicycles: I have a picture of a Jeff Pierce 7-11 frame that also seems to be missing the scalloped seat lug.

If the frame was built by Serotta, one would expect it to have a scalloped head lugs and S bend chain stays-- but I can't tell from the Ebay pictures if it has either feature. My 7-11 bike has a flat Henry James fork crown, but I own one of the sloping ones--same as on the Ebay bike--that I purchased several years ago from rec.bicycles.marketlplace.

There's some nice pictures of the Murry/Huffy/Serottas in the book "Tour de France '86, American Invasion" by Don Alexander & Jim Ochowicz. p. 55.
