Hello Nick,

What I've used with success is pariffin wax. Get a block of pariffin (found in the canning section of a supermarket) and rub the edges, top and bottom of the strap. The idea is to get a layer of wax on the leather to act as a dry lubricant. You may have to gently use pliers to get the strap started, but once started, it tends to glide thru ok. The good thing about pariffin is that it doesnt discolor the leather.

Good Luck, Dave Martinez getting paid to drive a celeste truck today.
