I used them back in the mid 1970s. I bent the one on the rear of my bike every couple of months. After going through a few of them I replaced the one on the back with an Arc En Ciel (330g compared to 260g for the Médaille D'Or) and never had any more problems with bending rims. I kept the Médaille D'Or on the front (I weighed mid 170s).
