I just got a Merlin Racing Cycles frame - no components - and would like to restore it. Based on the Campy decal, I think it is vintage 67-69. I have been able to find all decals (actually .jpgs, and I intend to use an ink jet water transfer decal set with fixative under clear) except the Merlin. Before I try to use an old hand scanner to take an image off the round (head tube and seat tube) - does anyone know where I can find this image/decal?
Does anyone know what components would be most accurate? (I have a bunch of old Campy hubs, headsets, some derailleurs - and will need a bunch more I'm sure. I do have period Cinelli bars.)
I've tried Bob Jackson, to the point of sending the serial numbers off the bottom bracket - but they drop the connection before I get any information.
Typically I do such abominations as fitting 105 gruppos on 70's Gitane frames - but this one is something I coveted way back then. It deserves good treatment.
