I agree entirely with Mike Butler's assertion that really the USPS team shades into insignificance alongside the likes of Alcyon, with its 14 Tour wins.
A couple of nights ago I was browsing on the net trying to find some background information about Alcyon. or Automoto, or one of the early famous French manufacturers. I happened to come across an incredible site that listed well over 100 brands of bikes, and catogorised them, first to last on a points basis, presumably awarding points for places in races, with a grading system for the races.
It was a staggering piece of research, and of course I haven't been able to find it since, but it gave Alcyon as by far and away the winner with atotal of some 6000+ points. the runner up (????) had about 4500. Some of the current big-hitters have problems climbing above 500. Has anyone else found this site..I would like to revisit it.?
