Michael, While I appreciate your positive outlook, concurring all around isn't one of the options. You can concur with all of what Jerry says, or all of what Sheldon says or all of what I say, or some of what each of us say, but not all what all of us say. Jerry thinks they are great derailleurs, I think they are mechanically pretty sucky, but have a lot of charm, and Sheldon seems to just think they're total dogs. I agree with the reasons Sheldon cites, though those reasons, to me, are part of the charm. Your post suggests that these are durable derailleurs, which is opposite to what I said about them when listing their faults. Any of the Campy units with alloy pins in the parallelogram are not that long wearing in my experience. It's just that old friction systems tend to tolerate quite a bit more slop.
