Coups de pedales is a nice, albeit randomly themed, historical racing periodical produced in Belgium. The articles are primarily written by collectors and race historians. In addition to the regular magazine, they also produce a supplemental they call the "hors serie". These special issues are quite comprehensive, normally 175+pages, and focus on the history of a specific race or rider. Personally, I have found that the hors serie goes into a great bit of detail that reflects a significant amount of research on the part of the writers.

Although the periodical is a bit pricey to have shipped to the U.S., it is for the most most part far superior to anything readily available to the U.S. market. To get to the Coups web site, go to the following site and click on the Coups ad on the right side of the home page: http://www.memoire-du-cyclisme.net/ Certainly worth a look. Hope this helps.
