I'm well into my third year of using Tufo tyres and extreme tape, and can say
that I like it so much I have given up using detachable tyres and tyre levers
altogether, even on my(very OT) Rohloff equipped Mercian. No mess, no smell,
you can carry a spare roll of tape easily with your spare tyre ( though I
haven't punctured in three years). Just be careful if you fit anything "special"
like an old Clement silk, the tape sticks to the base tape better than some
base tapes are stuck to the carcass, it may take some care to ease it off.
