Note from Mike Rawlings regarding Joe Williams and the bikes.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am the owner of the stainless Williams. Joe Williams started brazing for Scrota about 1980. He went on his own about 1990. He built out of Shirk's Bike Shop until last year. Looks like he's going to build out of central Pa. soon. My green Williams is from '94/95.....it's the one that hung for couple of years. my yellow Williams is from about 2001.............a commuter......Reynolds 531 n.o.s.....Everest ? lugs. the stainless was built over the last 2 1/2 years. I did the polishing....Henry James drops, fork crown and lugs........Joe was the builder..........Tom Kellogg the painter.

hope this helps. mike rawlings shillington , Pa. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just to be clear: The Burgundy Williams that Mike rode on saturday was just recently finished, but is a complete custom job for Mike. With Mike doing much of the polishing of the raw Henry James stainless lugs, a tedious and time consuming job to be sure! Turned out nice. Absolutely KOF stuff.
