Carlton Capella lugs were first introduced by Carlton's themselves in the early 1960's or 1959 just prior to the takeover by Raleigh's. I have an original 1970's Carlton catalogue issued in the UK from that period. I think the catalogue is from 1977 as it pictures Bob Cary riding for the Carlton-Weinmann pro team. I also have the letters from TI Raleigh sent to Bob Cary regarding his switch from TI Raleigh to Carlton-Weinmann in Nov.76 and details of the new team presentation and list of 1977 events contracted to ride etc. This catalogue shows the "Competition" model as a frame only. Reynolds 531 butted tubing. Angles basically 73 parallel. Mudguard or sprint clearances. Campagnolo front and rear ends. Fitted Alatet headset and TA seat bolt. Frame sizes from 21.5" going up in half inches to 24.5". Available in two colours Lilac or Royal Carmine. Sorry not very much.

Thats all for now. Keep those wheels spinning, in your memories if not still on the road. Be lucky Mick Butler Huntingdon UK.
