Subject: [CR]Cuevas on Craigslist 7/26

After a couple of Emails and a sleepless night waiting to hear from the owner I got the call this morning and made arrangements to pickup the bicycle that some of you may have seen pictures of while they were on the Craigslist BB yesterday. The bicycle was nearly new in every sense of the word and showed that it may have been ridden for 50 miles. If the components are a clue as to the date of manufacture the bike is likely an '80 or '81. There are a mix of Nuovo and Super Record parts (mostly Nuovo) and all of the 531 decals are intact albeit slightly crumbling. I have an NOS Super Record group that I'm building the bike with and will put the parts that came with the bike away in a box together in case I want to build it back to the way I found it. I was so tickled at the purchase that I found myself looking in the cargo area of my wagon for the whole ride back home from NYC. It needed a slight cleaning from NYC storage dust but other than that it is, as mentioned earlier, practically new. Pictures of the completed bike to be posted soon, case of some of California's best - a mix of Napa and Central Coast on the way to seller, I feel I owe it to him for the hook-up. What a bike.
