Man, you guys are good. The stem is a Nitto Technomic DLX (these are a little shorter than the standard Technomic but still very tall) that I have inserted well above the maximum height line. When I held it next to the bicycle prior to inserting it, the bottom of the stem was just past half way down the head tube. At the moment my plan is to ride the bike which is why I have it set up the way I do with some non-original parts but I have to say that based on some of the Emails I have received there are some out there who would appreciate the bike far more than me and makes me think that it might be better off in someone else's hands at some point (not now!). I bought it because it fit's me and I needed a frame on which to hang some shwag I had lying around, that it was from this particular maker is dumb luck for sure. Mark, the beer is on me at the Cirque next year. Ted, Dale, thanks. Oh, and Duncan, the sun doesn't shine on me everyday - in fact I spend as many days standing in a puddle as anyone I know. This month I bought a boat on-line, sight unseen, that is such dog that the fleas are scared of it. It all evens out in the end.
