Matty and all,

It was in fact a "Sterling" event. Weather was excellent, although the typical afternoon headwind(actually a strong crosswind) on the Silver Strand in Coronado was testing. Tried to keep it moving along there to make the tight schedule to meet the 12:30 Ferry accross San Diego Bay and cut it pretty close.

Rode my tandem with my friend Carlos (my new help around the shop) who is new to tandem riding. Course was too flat and windy to ever get into the big ring. Need some room and a good downhill to use that 60 x 12 to it's full effect.

Sterling and Regina put on a fantastic gathering, the food was outstanding and the videos really added some class and good side entertainment, almost as good as watching everyone power down Regina's super Marguritas. I generally don't drink that kind of ahcohol, but since they were so good, I even had one myself. A tour of their vintage house in Golden Hill was worth the trip even without the ride.

First class event, first class people. It just doesn't get any better than this! Thanks Sterling and Regina and everyone who showed up.

Brian Baylis La Mesa, CA The diet starts today! Start to eat right, drink MORE water, ride more than once a month. The coffee and doughnut diet I've been on for the last 10 years is gotta stop.

Greetings All, I wanted to thank Sterling Peters and his lovely wife Regina for hosting a wonderful ride on Sunday. I didn't count but my memory is there were about 2 dozen riders including 3 tandems.

There was a wide selection of classic bicycles... Eisentrout, Cinelli, Colnago, Masi(s), Guerciotti, Paramount(s), Baylis(s), Pogliaghi, Raleigh, Bianchi, Mercian and many others! Everything from fixed gears to tandems.

Great refreshments before and a BBQ after...A DVD was running off to the side with Coppi, Anquetil, Merckx and then recent TdF footage. The BBQ was on a spacious 2 level patio with views of downtown San Diego.

As a treat Jim Ogden, Sterling's neighbor and a vintage cyclist gave several of us a tour of his turn-of-the-century house and then his garages with 2 early Pope automobiles, a Jensen Interceptor III and the 1930's Rolls Royce Phantom II.

An outstanding time was had by all- Thanks again!
