Dale,

Again, not to be contrary; any some or even many builders may "use whatever's available at the moment", but for me it's exactly the opposite. Every tube matters and I have a multitude of tubes to select from in my stash (which I hope to keep growing, DONATIONS ACCEPTED ;-) which a great thing. The whole reason there are so many different tubes made is because each has certain purposes and charactistics. It's like selecting the right foam, resin, and fiberglass to build a surfboard. The right combination of design and materials makes man and machine become one.

Nothing personal of course, but I know for sure I don't just draw straws to pick tubes for a bicycle. I'm much more professional than that.......I always consult "The Magic Eightball"; it never fails!

I believe the French Reynolds decals were done in the 1970s when Peugeot was the largest user of Reynolds tubing in the world (odd that they used more than Raleigh, right?).

I'd guess Italy used less Reynolds tubing than America did in the 1970s, in other words, not much.
