Subject: [CR]A Northern California Vintage Ride

Hello Listmembers,

Just to let you know that the Northern California vintage contingent is not sleeping with all of the goings-on in Southern California and elsewhere, we convened a ride [the "Woodside Loop"] this last Sunday July 31, which I am happy to announce, went off quite successfully. The weather was perfect, not too hot and the camaraderie was, of course, the best. In attendance were:

Greg Davis - '61 Bianchi - beautiful unrestored example - convinced me to keep my newly acquired late '70s Ron Cooper original.

Bob 'NITRO BOB' Freitas - Raleigh Team Bike [Ilkeston Built with an interesting paint scheme].

Peter Johnson - Early '50s Bianchi - gorgeous historic bike, ridden capably over curbs and dusty single-track detours.

Jan Johnson - her treasured yellow Peter Johnson - always leads the peloton.

Dave Ross - Early '80's 3Rensho in that pearl blue - perfect frame originally from Yellow Jersey.

Nancy Powell - '80s (?) Austro Daimler in Purple...had to be Purple, nothing else would do!

Dave Clementson - '80s Hetchins [Beautiful Bob Jackson built example with Vibrant Stays and modern components] Damn, I cant find any of these in my size [47 - 50 cm].

Sarah Clementson - Waterford - fine KOF touring machine, ridden well.

Rod Davidson - Unknown maker 68 x 68 cm(!)

Peter Chiu - Arrived just a little late to join us on our ride. Met up at the end in the parking lot for the requisite vintage bike ogling and banter.

Me - '64 Schwinn Paramount

Keep those wheels spinning.
