Thanks for that vignette. I remember Ray as well from my days at Washington U, St Louis (as grad student and faculty member). Went to his shop on occasion, but I would occasionally see him in action as he rode a crossing street to my direction of travel. Tough, he rode in all sort of conditions, and, with that arm which was so short and basically non-functional, quite an inspiration when you thought about it. Thanks for helping me remember.
