Don,

I'm very sorry that some pics from someone's website ended up in the wrong place - but then again - perverts need a bike thrill every now and then like the rest of us don't you think!

More seriously though - as you know, I made the trip to Houston last year at significant expense to be a framebuilder groupie and had a wonderful time. I met some of the nicest folks you could ever hope to spend time with and learned a great deal from the events. I also took about 200 pics and put a lot of them on my Webshots site - many of which are still there. In the time after the show, several folks (including you) asked if they could use my photos and link to my site. I agreed immediately without any conditions (other than your offer to give me credit with the use of my pics - thank you BTW). I also let this list know of my pictures and in the following several months, my website counter came to life big time. The photos of the show attracted about 10,000 to 15,000 hits. I'd like to think that my pics helped disseminate what was going on at the show and to whet the appetite of potential future attendees.

I felt that one of the best parts of the show was the very relaxed nature of the interchange between exhitors and attendees. The ability to take pics was only limited by one's concern for getting in the way of others and being polite. Last year's event was unique in that it was small and intimate. It looks like this year's event will be much better attended, and the ability to take the kind of pictures I took last year may not be possible logistically(even if it was permitted). I would agree with some others that it would be more positive overall to allow some amateur photography with some honor system of behavior to keep whatever evildoing and chaos making to a minimum. These folks just don't seem that malicious. If I couldn't take pictures as a record of my memories of such a great event, it would dampen my enthusiasm about attending in the future. Maybe not a deal killer - but it would take a lot of the "warm and fuzzy" out of the event to me.

As in the past, I support your efforts 100% to make this show happen! I hope the upcoming show is all the last one was and more! It sounds like the list of exhibitors is going to be first rate. Whatever you decide - you deserve a boatload of gratitude for making this happen.

Respectfully,

Roman Stankus Atlanta, Ga.

Dale and list,

1 day after last years show, pics from the show of Paul Sadoffs bike were on a porn site. YES, a porn site. This was not cool with Paul and my job is to make sure the builders have a positive experience with this show. Allowing no public cameras cuts down on that possibility. Another problem was the first show had a bunch of folks snapping pics and publishing them to their own sites. Alot of the images were less than first

class and i would rather have only pro images published. If you can think of a way to do this, let me know.

I hope this explains it and you understand where I am coming from.

Thanks for your concern.
