I'm sorry that after all of Don's good efforts he is frustrated, but I think he is taking out the frustration on the wrong folks.

Anyone can steal or take an image of almost anything and put it anywhere. Should the builder who is upset try to ban photos of his bikes at races? At charity rides? Will he/she pull all images of his bikes off the internet? Where is the limit?

Now I will twist the logic to show a point... I did not attend the show, but I know from this list that something there appeared on a Porn site. Where there nude models with the bikes - was there an orgy? I don't think so. Why? Because lots of people where there WITH CAMERAS who took lots of photos and none of them showed photos with nasty goings on. But if CAMERAS ARE BANNED then who knows what sort of hanky panky might occur in the no photo zone. All I will know is that last year something from the show appeared on a Porn site, and this year only a designated photographer can take photos. Sounds like something fishy....

Yeah, the logic is a bit strained. But all of this is strained.

What happened last year was a violation. But unfortunatly bad stuff happens. That is not a reason to limit FREEDOM OF THE PRESS at this event. Kinda smacks of the Patriot Act in our own backyard.

> Ok, the fallout from pissed off folks has me pissed off to the n'th degree.

\r?\n> Its rather simple.

\r?\n> A builder had some pics from the last show end up on a porn site.

\r?\n> This did NOT make him very happy. He isnt in the porn business, he makes

\r?\n> bikes.

\r?\n> After talking with him again this afternoon he said " i make bikes, not

\r?\n> porno's, its not that I have anything against porn, but my bikes dont belong

\r?\n> with

\r?\n> that stuff."

\r?\n> Now, if anyone else was promoting this show they would do the same thing.

\r?\n> Regardless if you have 99% of the other builders ok with their stuff on a porn

\r?\n> site, if 1 builder is upset that it happened, then I need to take the steps

\r?\n> to make sure it cant happen again.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> I have had 1 wingnut go so far as to call me arrogant because of this...and

\r?\n> if anyone truly knows me, they know I am anything but.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> Richard Sachs, Brian Baylis, Paul Sadoff, and many more of these builders

\r?\n> are not only my colleagues, but my friends. I value their opinions as well as

\r?\n> advice, whether or not I agree with it. They all understood my intentions with

\r?\n> this and had no problems with what I am trying to accomplish.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> If you cant live with the rules that I have set forth, then dont attend.

\r?\n> Sure, I would love to have you all there, but the rules are what they are and

\r?\n> thats the bottom line. This is a tough job organizing this event and I know that

\r?\n> there is no way to please everyone, so I do what I feel is the right/best

\r?\n> thing to do.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> I am sorry if this upsets you all, but I have alot of builders that rely on

\r?\n> me to do the right thing. I truly am sorry some of you want to boycott the

\r?\n> show for your own reasons of not being able to take pics, but ask yourself

\r?\n> honestly, what is better...a show that you cant take pics at, or no show at

\r?\n> all.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> I hope you see my point.

\r?\n>

\r?\n>

\r?\n> DW

\r?\n> PS to the dude who called me arrogant, call me at home and lets talk and you

\r?\n> will change your opinion of me. My number is on my website.
