For several years during my youth I had the good fortune of riding a 1981 team replica Gitane made with Reynolds 531XL and outfitted with Campy NR parts. The bike even had the infamous Mavic SSC "Paris-Roubaix" hoops. Nearly 25 years later and I'm still trying to reunite myself with such a wonderful machine. I ride a 55cm (54 & 56cm is ok) and would be interested in any replicas from the years 1978-85.
Does anyone know how and where to start looking for such a beast?
