Norm,

Don't know what the 303 is all about. The "C56" seems to indicate an Italian frame. Any date stapmed on the steerer of the fork? Pictures would help a lot. Without more to go on we're still playing a guessing game.

For all the Masi experts out there, I could use some assistance in dating a bike. I looked at a well used, but still attractive frame with a few components still attached, not much if any original stuff still there. The BB markings were "303" and "C56" at the downtube end of the BB. On either side of the BB cut out there was "10+" and "6/1". There was no "MC" visible anywhere. If the "303" is the S/N I think this would make it a 74. What is the significance of the other markings? The patina and decals suggest this is the original finish. Also the rear der is a patent 71 and the front derailleur is a clamp on pre CPSC. The bars are 3TTT on a Cinelli oval logo stem. Head set and BB are Record as are the brake calipers. Most everything else is either missing or clearly incorrect. What would be the correct components for this frame?

Thanks for the help
