I think you were right the first time. This farme is mid 80's. I'm pretty sure that Chuck would agree. I think that you may have misconstrued his historical account. There is a close association between DeRosa and Benotto, the nature of which I don't recall, but I think it has been discussed on-list. I think that the best Benottos are really nice, underappreciated bikes. The Mod 3000s were very nice, and very similar to Derosas in many respects, including the heart motif, the diamond stay (I'm pretty certain), and the flat crown.
