Many thanks for all the explanations on how to spot a Gillott or Rotrax minus it's headbadge or transfers. I am afraid I am still an agnostic on this one as they both used similar propriety lugs. Because of this I would have thought it would make identity extremely difficult if not impossible, surely the only certain way is by their frame numbering sequences. Regarding Gillott taper tubes there was a Welwyn Wheelers fellow who used to ride a a very small taper tube frame at Gosling in the early 60's, ring any bells.
