Regarding the flocked jersey fromLe Jeune. My pale blue , double-knit not natural fibre Motobecane jersey from 1980 has the lettering in flocked material; my ex had a dark blue and green Motobecane/Le Redoute team jersey, but it was and not flocked and made of a tightly knit wool blend.. So this would tend to support the idea that the teams wore a higher quality garb. The hats...I recall a "box" style hat that was large enough to cover a leather hairnet, in addition to the more traditional cycling cap that we see now. My brother had a Team Raleigh one, I think.Could this be what Fred is talking about?
