Subject: [CR]Just When Things are Hotting Up

I've just packed a bag of clothes to keep me warm back in France. I leave early tomorrow morning and will be around various parts of that wonderful country for about five weeks

I already have about six bikes to pick up including a Thomann Randonneur, a Urago, a Bernard Carre - one of Paris' top builders of racing frames in the 60/70/80s, and a Peugeot Team bike from the 1978 season.

But what a time to leave the List behind ( I have no computer in France) just when we are getting on to hot topics such as brass v. silver, testing frames for flex, Brian Bayliss threatening to give up spraying to become a "constructeur"...

Maybe some of these topics will still be in the air when I return to the hot keyboard and who knows I might just have some new goodies to expose to the List.

Forgot..am meeting up with long tall Nelson Miller for a serious bike hunting and wine-consuming epic. If all goes well I may ride the end-of-the-season "Rallye des Vignobles" that, very sensibly, calls in at all the "Caves cooperatives"/wine cellars en route. Hope also to see a couple of France's former Classic races - Paris-Tours on the 6th October and Paris-Bourges, on the 9th

A bientot
