Hello, some new goodies arrived from the local machine shop. My design, their handywork. This is a high quality 7000 series alluminum track/fixed gear adaptor, with reverse threaded lockring made from high grade stainless steel to convert road bikes to fixed gear with no wheel dishing necessary!. It is for bikes with horizontal road dropouts and 6 speed (126mm. rear dropout spacing) or 7 speed (128mm. rear spacing). and a freewheel rear hub. You can convert a bike with a 6 or 7 speed freewheel to a fixed gear by putting this on in place of the freewheel, add your cog, thread on included stainless steel reverse lockring, and shorten your chain. That's it! Adaptor "bumps out" the chainline so you do not need to re-dish your rear wheel. These adaptors work very well. One suggestion: Install the adaptor with blue locktite (available from a local hardware store). This keeps the adaptor from spinning when "fixed gear braking". Install the cog with grease (so it is easy to change out cogs without the adaptor loosening too). Best of all, parts with blue loctite are relatively easy to remove with hand tools, and the threads are protected by loctite's expanding capabilities.
