Motor paced racing. In the Spring 2004 VCC Boneshaker mag, shows Harry Grant on a paced record ride, on page 19 an addfor a Selbach pace bike, also in the Claud Butler 1937 1938 Catalouge shows a Pace Follower bike all custon made with forks to match etc, in the June 1950 Cycling page554 show a photo of Pro pace race with all the pro riders on REGULAR trake bikes???? no smaller front wheels!!!! I do remember and at my age this is quite a feat, as a nipper on the track I did ONCE try riding my Claud Butler Road Path with the forks turned around and a 26" wheel, from a mate, I did NOT like the way it felt at all. So I am sure some of the track lads did use this method for pace riding, but the pros would have a special made bike for them, looks from the photos the frame had a larger head tube and the front wheel was much smaller?? Cheers John Crump, ANYONE have ANY info on the Vittoria frame that I have,??????
