Motor paced bikes, I have just looked through a VCC Boneshaker mag #168 Summer 2005 on page 50 is article about Motor Pacers in the 30s, One part says Front forks were beginning to tentatively to rake backwards, with an extremely short main triangle, so it seems in thoes days motor pace bikes where custon made, I think as another writer said from the Uk that like me he also used a road path frame, due to financial reasons after the war, any rider who rode a lot of motor paced races would probly have a bike buit for that purpose only.
NOW to the frame that I have, it is a Vittoria frame#118045 is red with chrome lugs, inside routed rear brake cable on the left side and lever braze on, on the right with inside routed cabe to the rear gear, it take a 25.7 seat pin!!! has made in italy in ENGLISH on the head badge, anyone have any idea who made this frame for Vittoria??? and what year is it, the fork rake looks like a 50-60s style is has braze on rear ends for the gear, suggest that it is for ONLY a rear gear No braze on for double chainring lever on the left, has Vittoria in white, on down tube over Olympic Rings and Olympic rings appear on the metal head badge, DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY INFO FOR ME ON THIS, Cheers, John Crump Oldbrit
