Touriste-Routier Omer Taverne, winner of stage 3 of the 1929 TdF, 199kms from Cherbourg to Dinan. He would go on to finish the Tour in 21st place, From "Le Miroir des Sports" No.490, 5 July 1929.
Also in the same periodical - I find the occasional note scribbled in the ledger, or news clipping tucked between the pages. This time someone has carefully repaired the only tear by using part of a 5-centimes postage stamp:
