Subject: [CR]CR: Rare Hetchins for Sale

Hi CR folks, Up for sale is a very rare Hetchins Super Special 6 day with curly stays (vibrant). From 1949 or so. The 6 day model has an indented seatube to allow for both a relatively short wheelbase and the use of mudguards. The Super Special model itself is rare, and this combination is extreamly unique. The size is just over 57cm cc seatube with a 58cm cc top tube. I bought this frame from Hilary Stone on ebay a couple of years back. I paid close to $1,100 to get it here with shipping. My price is $925 plus shipping. The frame was refinished at some point, and the paint is woefully boring. The downtube transfer looks like a budget repro. So for the motivated, I'd have it restored again. But if someone is to have one Hetchins, this exceptional model would be a great choice. Curley stays, rare lugs, and the 6 day version. And you could always build it, ride if for a few years, and then go for a fancy repaint. By then Baylis should be caught-up so he can do his magic. Payment by check or money order. Email for photos if you are seriously interested. Thanks! Mike Kone in Boulder CO
