Subject: [CR][RE]Tools for inch pitch chains

Well long before I got into the road bikes in a heavy way I was into the Balloon bikes. Those who know this part of the hobby know that pretty much all pre-war balloon bikes came with inch pitch or skip tooth as they are also called. I also had trouble finding a chain breaker till I discovered that taking a cheap chain breaker and snapping of the two outer positioning points in the breaker body did the trick. The half inch breakers use a saddle arrangement in the breaker body to position the link for the pin to hit it dead center. For inch pitch the outer points are in the way, just snap them off with some pliers and you have an inch pitch chain breaker.

Good luck
