Forgive me not having a sample in front of me to confirm this, but I recall the Crane, and similar Simplex and Ofmega Premier derailers don't have a slanted parallelogram, rather it is canted from vertical, however.

A question for the list: Was it Shimano who first produced the dual-sprung derailer, or Simplex?

Gotta love this huge font! Feels like shouting!

Speaking of sprung pivots, The cage pivot spindle on my CX bike's derailer came adrift during Sunday's race, while running second overall on the last lap of the B race. That derailer so thoroughly exploded on impact with the spokes that I knew instantly that I was done. So lucky my lugged Miyata frame's dropout was unscathed, tho the wheel needed re-lacing, and did manage the top spot a day earlier in Saturday's B40+ contest in Ione.
