I agree with M. Thompson about your Le Champion's brake bridge. As luck would have it, I'm in process of putting a fixed wheel on mine, and the brake bridge looks the same, minus the gap behind that round washer the brake fits against. I guess some were brazed better than others. Good luck matching that lovely mauve color: I recently had the cracked seat tube replaced, and had the re-builder (Franklin Frames) fade in a close but not perfect paint color. I wanted to preserve as much of the original as I could. It was a very sweet riding bike for 25 or so years that I'm anxious to put back on the road.
