Hi There,
My name is Mike Bullis and I have been suffering from
Classicbike syndrome for almost 45 years. I am a heavy
equipment mechanic by trade and I feel lucky to have
discovered this forum.
My collection consists of a late 1930s Modern Cycles
Stratos, w/original paint and decals and an add on
Simplex 3 speed derailleur, built by Harry Skidmore in
Oldham, England. A 1970 Robin Hood that I received new
as a grade school graduation present from my folks,
and a 1981 Miyata 710 that I bought new. I recently
rescued a 1964 Dunelt from the trash and made it into
a 2 speed fixed gear for commuting. I also have a
couple of newer bikes that I won't mention other than
to say one is a cobbled together fixed gear and the
other survived, with me, PBP in 1991.
I am still kicking myself for selling a 1970 Schwinn
Paramount Track bike for about 1/3 it value when my
employment at that time went south.
So, hello everybody. And if anyone has any info on my
Stratos, I'd really appreciate it.
