I'm attempting to rebuild two of my rides to period correctness -- both are '81-'82 vintage -- and need approximate dates for the introduction of a few bits and pieces. Both have parts that I believe are too new. Can anybody tell me the approximate introduction dates for the following? Cinelli EXA bars -- hexagonal cross section, Mod. 64 bend Wolber/Super Champion Gentleman GTA rims (satin silver box section) Selle San Marco Max saddle -- looks like a suede Supercorsa, only much fatter
Also, I'm building up a pair of everyday clincher wheels for one of these bikes, which is currently shod with nearly unmarked Arc-en-Ciels on high flange NR hubs. This will be a daily rider, and I want to save the Corsa CX/CGs for nice days. What was the approximate introduction of the pale hard anodized Ambrosio Durex 19s? And how about Campagnolo's rims, esp. the Delta XL hard chrome? Those were a little later, weren't they? Anyone out there have a favorite clincher rim from the early '80s? I'm hoping to go Italian, rather than defaulting to an MA2 or a G40/MA40.
