Some additional information, based on recent newspaper articles, to what is already under ITALY on the CR webpages:
    Girardengo, referred to as "Gira", was struck with the 1918 plague but survived.
    In addition to the palmares listed he also won the "G.P. Wolber" in 1920 which at the time was considered the world championship race.
