Jan,

I attended the swap when it was at the Cow Palace and now when it's been at the Expo. I like the new location, as did the fellow swappers who went with me on Saturday.

I stopped into your booth but didn't introduce myself. Like you said, you had lots of customers all day long.

Aside from the thumbs up on the new location (and I heard that echoed by other people at the swap), I'd urge you to give the SF Bike Coalition people some help with the location for their valet bike parking. They had nothing to lean bikes against after they checked in the first dozen bikes or so. At one point, a few minutes after they parked my bike, another bike tipped over and caused a domino effect on a whole row of bikes. Yikes.

Meade, yes, the Ivory Snow comes in a liquid laundry detergent. It's what I've been using on my Seattle International Randonneurs jersey (I'm a sucker for the color blue).

As far as what I got at the meet, I found an old 1st gen. long cage Suntour Cyclone rear der. It's missing the bolt and nut to clamp the cable but I think I can find something for that. I also got a campy copy SR (Japanese) two bolt seat post, and the rest of the stuff I got was parts for a project (wheel build for a bike my boss rides) and 'consumables'. The post isn't all that 'pretty', but I like the old design. I have the official Campy two bolt posts on five of my bikes, and this one probably will go on my commute bike. I'd say there wasn't as much vintage stuff as I wanted to find, but all in all there was about the same proportion as the first SF Veloswap. I missed going to the 2nd one. I wished American Cyclery had a booth. If they did I missed it somehow.

Aside from spotting Jan, I did see Bob F. (bought some stuff from him) and I saw Stevan from afar. Two of my bike club members had booths there too. Fun to see all the other shoppers, all the organizations there, and all their stuff. Funny that I'm not beginning to recognize lots more faces from other similar events.
